KernelCare, a great new service.
KernelCare is a new great service, which provides important updates for the running kernel, eliminating the need to reboot Linux servers. Rebootless kernel updates can save a significant amount of system administrators time, decrease downtime and improve server security.
We have now deployed KernelCare to all of our shared and OpenVZ nodes. This means important security updates to the Linux kernel can be applied much faster than they were before and without causing any downtime.
Before KernelCare updates were applied manually and a maintenance window was opened to schedule the reboot, causing both disruption for clients and a lot of admin time. Now all updates are applied automatically as soon as the patch is available without the need for a reboot!
